VeryPDF PDF Compressor is a classic application that reduces the size of PDF files.
The program is not complicated at all. You have access to a more than simple interface providing self-explanatory buttons. However, I would have liked the displayed window to be a bit larger, which is not possible as the maximizing button is inactive.
You have some control over the compressed document by adjusting a series of settings within the Option window. There are few aspects within the PDF format that have implication over the size. If you modify these elements, you will get yourself an output document with a reduced dimension. And this is how PDF Compressor works. You can apply some changes with reference to the images and font data within the input files so that the result would be smaller sized PDFs.
Another thing that drew my attention was an ability to set security terms for the output documents. Thus, you may give or not permission for printing, copying content, assembling or applying comments. Additionally, you can put your 'signature' over the newly resulted file by filling in some descriptive fields. These information will be available in the 'Properties' window and will offer, among other things, details related to the author's name, the title, subject and keywords of the document.
The list pane may be populated with multiple PDFs in order to be compressed at once. I can't certify how fast the batch converting process is, because the trial version provides a limitation in this sense, announced indeed from the installing stage. But I can confirm that, when testing the app on one file, the conversion didn't take long at all. Moreover, the resolution of the output file was good enough.
I personally liked VeryPDF PDF Compressor because it does no more no less than its title implies, namely, it creates backup copies of PDF files with reduced sizes. This is the program's aim, and it carries it out successfully.
